Shorai LFX eXtreme-Rate batteries were born in Japan, and they embody classic Japanese appreciation for exhaustive engineering and the finest materials. Shorai sounds like “show-rye” and it means “the future”. Shorai LFX Lithium-Iron batteries truly represent a leap forward in battery performance.
LFX are also environmentally friendly, and are 70% to 80% lighter than lead-acid batteries. And lithium-Iron cells do not “sulfate” like lead-acid batteries, so do not degrade while sitting unattended.
Shorai LFX batteries have the same charge requirements as AGM lead-acid batteries. So all modern vehicle charging systems work with Shorai LFX just as if they were lead-acid batteries. Shorai LFX do not significantly change the performance or loads on charging system regulators, or any other charging system components.

Other lithium starter batteries use an “off the shelf” cylindrical cell originally intended for low-rate tool applications. However, our experience has allowed the development of the world’s only prismatic Lithium-Iron batteries with extreme current and voltage performance. In short, our batteries are like no other, delivering more energy faster, with less weight and with less wear on the battery per start cycle than any other brand or technology.
The Shorai factory is ISO 9000:2008 certified, meaning that we meet tough quality-control standards. We then go beyond those standards with per-cell quality control testing which is more than double the industry average. This means that the cells in each battery are well matched, and reliable.
All LFX batteries sold in South Africa have direct factory warranty, and our technical assistance team in the Western Cape is always ready to assist you with your questions or concerns, before or after purchase.

Contents and Installation
Shorai LFX batteries come in a variety of case shapes and sizes, capacity options, and right/left polarity options, for the best possible fitment. If the LFX is slightly smaller than the original battery in one dimension or another, high-density, adhesive-backed foam sheets are included in the package. These can be trimmed and applied to the battery box in minutes, to make a solid fit, and with added thermal and vibration insulation. Cable connections can be made either at the top or side of the terminals. All these options and sizes allow Shorai LFX to offer a “drop-in” installation for most powersport vehicles. When you open a LFX battery package you will also find terminal screws and a set of spares, Shorai decals in various sizes, and the user manual.

Shorai Charge and Store Battery Management System
While standard lead-acid chargers can be used with Shorai LFX when needed, the BMS01 is specifically designed to charge, store, maintain, balance and diagnose your LFX battery.
